IBI’s 16-week Advanced Medi-Spa Diploma covers a wide range of theory and technique in three key areas:
1. Skin Care (120 hours)
- Study of skin layers, functions, disorders, and diseases
- In-depth skin analysis to develop personalized treatments for clients
- Basic facial treatments with cleansing, toning, exfoliation, steaming, extractions, masque and moisturizers
- Advanced facial treatments with high frequency, aromatherapy, advanced facial massage, and essential oils
2. Laser (120 hours)
- History and types of lasers
- Products and treatment options
- Client assessment and documentation
- Regulations and safety
- Laser hair removal using a Diode laser
- IPL (Photorejuvenation- collagen stimulation, veins, pigment, and acne reduction)
- Tattoo removal using a Q-Switched laser
- Exposure to Co2 fractional laser and other skin resurfacing lasers
- Skin tightening/body contouring
3. Chemical Peels & Microdermabrasion (120 hours)
- Chemical and mechanical means of exfoliation
- Glycolic, Lactic, Salicylic and AHA Peels
- Diamond tip microdermabrasion
- Combining treatments and home care products for best results

IBI’s Advanced Medi-Spa program also includes 120 hours of hands-on, practical experience. The Clinical Application component of the program allows students to perform advanced aesthetics procedures on real clients, under the supervision of experienced instructors.
